Moment 7: The Struggle for a Better World is a symposium that brings together activists, archivists, researchers, and cultural workers to explore the semiotics and visual culture of Swedish left-wing radicalism in the decades following World War II. By examining symbols, rituals, and visual media expressions, the symposium investigates the role of radicalism in reshaping society and creating visions of the future. Through lectures and discussions on photography and film, it offers an in-depth look at the ideological and cultural conflicts that shaped post-war Sweden.

Organizers: The symposium is part of the research project Moment: Lens Media Evidence and Aesthetics in Sweden 1939–1969. It is organized in partnership with HDK-Valand, GPS400 and the Hasselblad Foundation, and carried out in collaboration with KvinnSam and the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Gothenburg.
