Annotation Fever!

For the 2025 edition of the Gothenburg International Biennale for Contemporary Art, GIBCA, and its Extended program, FG2 will temporarily be housed at Kinesiska Muren, Skeppsbron 4, in Gothenburg.

This exhibition is part of a series of workshops called “Annotation Fever!” Developed by the artists Klara Källström & Thobias Fäldt, together with media theorist Bernard Dionysius Geoghegan, the format is meant to explore the practice of annotation, foundational to the creation of datasets for generative AI.

The outcome of this collective annotating session will contribute to Iconologies of AI, a wider project aimed at creating a generative AI model using Klara Källström & Thobias Fäldt’s work together with Thomas Sauvin’s archive, the Beijing Silvermine, as a dataset.

The exhibition and workshops are part of an ongoing collaboration between the artists and the Gothenburg Research Infrastructure for Digital Humanities, the Department of Applied IT, and HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg.
